Bancroft

Terry G. Rindlisbaker of Bancroft is being inducted into the 2016 Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame for his extensive work with Idaho’s famous potatoes.
Among the improvements implemented on the family’s farm, Rindlisbaker has been responsible for changing the irrigation systems from hand lines to wheel lines to pivot precision irrigation to low pressure and variable rate pumps. Three state-of-the-art potato storage units with cement floors and underground ventilation systems have also been added. Tractors and harvest equipment equipped with RTK GPS guidance systems for precision planting and harvest are also in use. The latest addition to the family farm is the use of a drone for crop and water surveillance.
Rindlisbaker has received several state and national awards for his high quality seed production. Over the years, Rindlisbaker has gown some 20 different varieties of seed potatoes in his work to find the “perfect potato”. He currently is growing six different seed varieties of seed potatoes on his farm.
A member of the Idaho Crop Improvement Advisory Committee, Rindisbaker has also served on the North Gem School Board, is a Board member of the Caribou Memorial Hospital, and is currently a member of the Soda Springs Airport Board.
He and his wife, MarJean, are the parents of three children.
