Rick D. Keller
Idaho Farm Bureau Federation, Chubbuck
Rick D. Keller and his wife Alene, of Chubbuck, Idaho, devoted more than 40 years of service to Idaho agriculture through the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation. After earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business from Idaho State University, Rick began his career in 1979 as a Farm Bureau field representative serving the southeastern Idaho counties. Rick became a trusted advocate for farmers and ranchers at the county, state and national levels. In 1999, he was named Executive Vice President and CEO, a role he held for 20 years.
Under Rick’s leadership, Farm Bureau membership grew from 49,000 to more than 80,000 members, a 62% increase. County representation expanded to 41 of Idaho’s 44 counties, and the organization consistently achieved a legislative success rate of more than 90% for Farm Bureau-supported policies. He also expanded agricultural marketing efforts, strengthened media outreach, and fostered collaboration among commodity groups statewide. Rick received the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation’s highest honor, the President’s Cup, in 2021. His legacy in eastern Idaho is defined by tireless advocacy, quiet service and an unwavering commitment to those who work the land.
Rick and Alene are the parents of five children: Jared, Jeffery, Derick, Jordan, and Riley.
