Dear EIAHF Inductees, book sponsors and friends;

I am pleased to announce an exciting new partnership between the Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame (EIAHF) and the Idaho FFA Foundation: our new EIAHF Leaders & Legacy FFA Grants.
A wonderful slate of sponsors helped cover the production costs of our 50th Anniversary book. Sales continue as individuals and businesses purchase copies for family, friends, their offices and
as gifts.

Proceeds from book sales are enabling us to fund two years of our new FFA student and chapter EIAHF Leaders & Legacy Grants. These grants support agricultural education, invest in our industry’s future, and honor EIAHF inductees. They are part of a larger legacy shared by all who are associated with the Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame and this book project.
The Idaho FFA Foundation is an organization with more than 46 years of experience promoting agricultural education, leadership, and career success for Idaho youth. The EIAHF grants will be included in the Foundation’s offerings in September 2026, and again in 2027.
EIAHF Leaders & Legacy grants are offered in two categories:
- Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) Grants for project work and entrepreneurship;
- EMERGE Chapter Grants for travel, training and experiential learning.
Students and chapters apply to the FFA Foundation. Eligible applicants are high school FFA members and chapters from the 16-county EIAHF region. As well as the Foundation’s standard application and selection criteria, applicants are asked to submit a short essay in which they identify an EIAHF inductee and describe how this inductee has inspired them.
Through these new grants, we are “paying it forward” to help the next generation of agricultural practitioners, leaders and advocates. Please contact your local FFA chapters and members to let them know about these opportunities.
The grants are another way that EIAHF is leveraging the 50th anniversary book to promote agriculture. To ensure that all eastern Idaho residents have access to this resource, we donated a book to every public museum, public library and high school FFA chapter in our 16-county region – more than 100 copies total. Copies are also in the Idaho State Archives, and in Idaho’s college and university libraries.
The book was instrumental in EIAHF being recognized with the state of Idaho’s highest honor for historical education and outreach in 2025 – the Esto Perpetua Award – presented by the Idaho State Historical Society at a ceremony in Boise. This award recognizes individuals and organizations that preserve and promote the Gem State’s rich history and cultural legacy. EIAHF is the first agricultural organization to receive this recognition.
Thank you for your commitment to agriculture and your affiliation with the Eastern Idaho Agriculture Hall of Fame. Together, we will continue to honor our industry’s leaders and legacy.
Richard Larsen, EIAHF President
